Hey there, it’s me—Deborah!


If you ever walked into Rt 30 Seafood, chances are you saw my smiling face. Now, I’m beyond excited to welcome you back—this time to my very own restaurant!


Starting at Rt 30 Seafood at just 15 years old, I used to ride my bike to work every day. I started by making their famous crab balls and bussing tables, then quickly learned the menu and moved up to waiting tables. Over the years, I got to know so many amazing regulars—you know who you are! After more than 20 years slinging crab legs, I’m finally ready to be boss lady.


I’ve teamed up with my longtime friend Sam and our new chef (and now friend) Kevin to bring Thomasville’s favorite seafood spot back to life! We’ve spent the last year renovating and improving everything, from a brand-new kitchen to a completely updated dining space and a stunning granite bar. Trust me—you’ll be amazed when you step inside!

When it came to choosing a head chef, we knew we needed someone special. After reviewing tons of applicants, Kevin stood out with his creative ideas and passion for seafood. A Baltimore native with years of experience working on the Chesapeake, Kevin brings something fresh, exciting, and absolutely delicious to the table. Of course, we’ll have steamed crabs and classic seafood favorites, but Kevin’s unique take on coastal cuisine will have you coming back whenever you’re craving something extraordinary!


Anchor Down + Thistle Finch Distillery


I’m also thrilled to announce that Anchor Down Crabhouse will be your local satellite location for Thistle Finch Distillery in Lancaster! Owned by Andrew and Kate Martin (a fellow Spring Grove grad and former Rt 30 Seafood employee!), Thistle Finch brings handcrafted spirits to our cocktail menu. Expect curated cocktails made with fresh ingredients, plus their new Shiftys seltzers—available in York for the first time! We’ll also have an awesome selection of PA beers in bottles and on draft.


Born and raised in Thomasville, I couldn’t be happier to bring this restaurant to life right where it all began. I can’t wait to welcome you in, share some amazing food, and catch up with all my favorite familiar faces—and plenty of new ones, too!

I am truly excited to welcome you to the Anchor Down Crab House. Growing up in Maryland, I have many years of fond memories of picking crabs with friends and family and enjoying the abundance that the Chesapeake Bay and Mid-Atlantic waters had to offer. I hope to bring that love and the recipes I’ve developed along the way to this restaurant and community.

I’ve spent nearly 25 years in the restaurant industry having worked in nearly every position from dishwasher to manager. 20 years ago I fell in love with cooking, and Chesapeake style seafood in particular, while working in a Baltimore crab house. Over the years I have worked in several states, for many talented chefs, and with all types of cuisine, but my passion has always been the food I grew up with. This menu was born of that passion.

My partners and I hope you and your family will enjoy the food and welcoming atmosphere at Anchor Down. This is only the beginning, we look forward to bringing you delicious and creative dishes, crabs, and local beer and cocktails for years to come.
